Always have a charger connected. When you perform the flash, The ignition is on but the engine and alternator are off. So the battery is being drained, at the same time during the flash all sorts of components are activated like pumps that create more drain. The charger is there to slow the drain. If it does goes flat during a flash you can get stuck. |

14/07/2016 - $70.00 - Cyba Scroops Painted Orange
I got bored so I thought id spice up the scroops I purchased, Red wasn't going to suit my car anyway. I did about 4 coats of primer, very thin Around 8 coats of orange, again, each coast extremely thin Then about 5 coats of high temp clear that I originally purchased for my brakes. I waited 7 days between the orange and starting the clear coat, then another week before fitting them.

26/07/2016 - $400.00 - Service - DIY - Oil Change 106,000
26/07/2016 - $204.98 - Car Ramps First oil change, I got a set of Stanfred 750kg ramps and 750kg ramp extensions. Castrol Edge 0w40 1 x 5L and 2 x 1L BMW Oil Filter kit Nulon Oil Flush This change went just about as bad as it possibly could. First of all the ramps just slide on a flat surface when you try to get onto them, so I had to put them against the wheel stop in my parking garage, this made it hard to get underneath. Then as im draining the oil and thinking how well its going, the angle of the oil decides to change from into the tub to onto the floor :/ Then when I go to change the filter I realise I had the wrong part number and it wont fit. (got the right one the next day) Then the oil change valve I purchase snaps off as im screwing it in with little to no force, just broke apart, I was able to finger screw the thread out of the sump, luckily. In the end it was all changed, took ages to clean up the spilt oil, and worryingly there was only about 2-3L in the tub and perhaps 1L on the ground, the car was very low on oil. I put the full 6.5L in and measured every drop, next change ill measure exactly how much comes out. Lots of lessons learnt, thats for sure, next time it will be easier.

Haha, yes same thing happened to me with the angle of the oil changing. At least you had a smooth surface... we have an exposed agg driveway... much more difficult to clean up!
Good to hear everything worked well in the end. Btw... nice scroops!

Yep, a few months back I got the low oil add 1L warning twice in two weeks, then nothing since.

The next stage is TMPS tyre pressure monitoring system, that reads the PSI and displays it onscreen, and i think it alerts much better. TMPS has 4 sensors you install in the wheel/tyre that sends data to the iDrive. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=672658

I was expecting an ebay no name brand! I would be asking for a refund or new valve!

You're much better off using a magnetic drain plug, that at least has some real benefits. I change my oil regularly and having a valve wouldn't really make things that much faster.

The oil valve allows you to attach a hose and without first hand experience in use tells me i could reach under the car and plug a hose on and twiste the lever to drain the oil, which sounds easier than getting under, unscrewing the plug, getting the first splash of oil on my hands and hoping i can get it into the tub. EDIT: Answered my own question, looks good
