Service Cover Up?
I brought my car in for service for the steering column whine.
The steering whine was not something you had to strain your ears to hear - it was very audible and I had passengers mention the squeaking on my $50,000 new car! It was also consistently doing it! After 3 days and 15 miles they put on my car, they couldnt replicate the sound, and it doesnt make it anymore. Is it possible they just greased something in the column to cover it up? Can anyone who knows the mechanics of the steering help me out here? The "notches" I feel in the steering they claimed were also normal...
