She finally got her new Mini yesterday and after quite some time detailing it, here is what it looks like (with some rather tasty 18" JCW wheels!).....

No, I did this one myself! Will probably use Paul for the M6 as he is awesome at getting rid of swirl marks which I'm sure will show up more on the blue colour than on my white M3. The Mini's paint was actually spot on so wasn't a problem doing it myself! |

looks good, white is soooo growing on me as a colour these days.
I do keep looking at my car thinking maybe should have gone White/Red rather than Sparking Graphite/Beige |

Have you been handed some of this freshly printed money Palmball??? M3 to M6, Mini - at least someone is trying to stimulate the economy
I love the Mini. Never driven one though but I'm sure it's a riot. That one look very nice.

As it happens, the M3 > M6 change is saving me money s the M6 is so cheap! The mini....well, the other half pays for that. She just has to get what she's told to get! |

I'm not really a fan of the new Minis (surprise, surprise I prefer "proper" Minis) but that looks fab in the white and black with those wheels
More lights needed on the front grille though

I wouldn't call the BMW one "Mini" in size not compared to the proper one
Not my kinda thing either of 'em to be honest but they are both meant to be a really good fun FWD hatch

I remember when I was working in Peterborough last year, my hotel was in Market Deeping and across in the square there was a late model old shape Cooper tricked up in the last colours and wheels etc. and it looked absolutely cute and gorgeous. Sitting opposite nose to nose was a BMW Mini Cooper equally well specced and it was astounding the difference in size. The MINI was massive next to the Mini!
It brought it home to me just how small the Mini was. |

I put one coat of Meguier's Gold Class (sort of helps to clean the paintwork). I then use this wax I bought called Rubbish Boy's Original Edition Carnuaba wax. It was about £40 for the tub and you have to rub it in your hands and then apply it...with your hands! It isn't the easiest stuff to use but it seems to give a good finish. I have, however, just invested in a tub of Swissvax Blau-Weiss which is apparently especially made for BMW's @ £80 for the tub. Now, I don't for one minute believe it will have 'special powers' on BMW paintwork but it was the same price as their other normal wax so I thought I'd give it a go and hopefully it'll be easier to apply than the Rubbish Boy's wax. The new M6 will be the first to get it at the weekend so I'll let you know how it goes. |
