I will be flashing after work today, I'm curious as to if it actually is seemless in terms of how the car behaves. When I had my front driveshaft out when my u-joint broke the car only let me go full throttle for a few seconds even with t/c off.

Update: flashed and it seems great, no weird t/c issues like I had with no front driveshaft which was contrary to what people say.

Are you able to have something like a MHD tune active and also disable X-drive? Or will it overwrite the tune?

It's a separate computer so it doesn't affect mhd.

I also flashed to rwd and it's awesome. Took two min to flash back to awd for the snow. No lights and traction control works as it should. Totally recommend!

I love it. Feels like a new car. Wondering if you can add a rear lsd with the awd?

Absolutely. A few people have. The rear end is the same as an i.

Anyone try to flash it with JB4 installed? I was going to try with Map 0 but heard some people had issues. Thanks!

I’m contempt with the JB4 with E85 backend flash for now. I’m actually going to be doing dyno comparisons between JB4 and MHD, along with drag time comparisons in the upcoming season to see which is actually better.

I would've never conclude one is better over another based on dyno and drag times... there's a lot more to a tune than times and numbers.

Being that you can tune the same amount of tables with a BEF it just comes down to MHD being a complete tune, not a BEF that relies on another box to control boost. Kinda useless and less safe using a JB4.

I flashed XHP on both my cars with JB4 on map 0 so you shouldn't have a problem. I doubt there would be any difference in dyno numbers between MHD and JB4 running the same boost. The JB4 is great for integrating meth.

Does this vibration occur at like 60-70 mph? Cause I kind of feel like I'm getting the same thing. Gets worse under acceleration and smooths when I'm coasting or under decel

It vibrated a lot of places but most prominent was under acceleration, low to mid rpms in lower gears. One of the u joints had a little play in it.

I'll get another one eventually.

I've been doing a lot of research on this and I actually believe the JB4 w/ back end flash is safer because it will kick you into a safe map if anything goes wrong.

I'm currently in the process of dynoing, getting drag times, and logging both MHD OTS maps and JB4 w/ BEF maps to compare them.

Saying MHD is better than JB4 simply because it is a full flash is kind of biased/misinformation IMO. JB4 does more than just control boost as it does control/manipulate timing as well and you can also run meth as you said.

Both are fine IMO as long as you log correctly. My logs on JB4 w/ E85 BEF and e60 are perfect

I noticed this when I was running with no front drive shaft when my u joint failed but with xDelete I get way fewer driveline vibration than in awd. That's not to say it's bad in awd but it's certainly noticeable.

I'm having an issue with x delete. Seemed to flash fine at first. Then I hit the full stock dash option curious to what that was. I thought it would throw a prompt up before it did something. It started flashing and would never progress. I had to exit the app and now I get errors trying to flash on/off or read codes.

Anyone ever have that happen? I sent a help email to them already.

Thanks!

So do we have a consensus on xDelete yet? Have the quirks been resolved? People have good reviews on its functionality but only when it works. Anyone else care to chime in and share their experiences please?

If nothing else, use xdelete to turn xdrive into what it should have been from the factory. Then throw your cord aside and leave it alone forever. I settled on manual 35%. Lessens the influence on the steering feel, lessens the understeer, while maintaining all weather traction. This feels like how a BMW AWD should always feel.
