Haha fair enough.

You'll find it a lot more fun without stock rubber.

I'm going on the 22nd as well, registered the moment I got the email. 2 Series autocross and 650i vert street drive.

Also, just got some nasty, like really nasty, wastegate rattle today. Time to fight like hell to get them to actually honor the extended warranty. It's an '06 build, so I'm betting the only way to properly fix it would be to replace the full turbos and vacuum pump and I'm sure they'll try to do the absolute minimum. Doesn't happen when idling, but if you rev it to around 3,000 and let off, the rattle is very loud and apparent. Also have noticed what I can only assume is lack of boost, as the car has been really unresponsive to throttle input lately.

Hopefully BMW decides to actually honor the warranty and fix it properly. I've been jerked around enough by them so far, so if they keep up the trend then I'll just say screw it and hop into a Jag like I've been considering.

The Bmw in Stratham NH was really good to work with and replaced my turbos with no issues.

Oh look bad coil packs on both 335s! What a great way to start the weekend. Thank god they take 5m to replace. Also, clearing DCTs while driving 80mph is the shit.

Where is the best place to buy coilpacks? turner?

I'm out in the part of MA everyone forgets exists - Western MA on the CT border. Quite a ways away unfortunately.

The service guys I dealt with at the dealership seemed pretty good though, had me email him the video I had of the rattle so he could push for a full replacement on them right away instead of the hassle of having to reproduce the issue exactly as bad as I was complaining about. Hopefully that means I'll have my car back with new turbos early this week.

How about a cruise. Pick a destination an hour or two away with a scenic route and go for it.

I would be down for a cruise depending on where we are headed to. We could take the scenic route up the Maine coast for an hour or two and stop at a state park for a lil BBQ. Or at a restaurant. I would prefer restaurant.

Hey anyone know if can a cobb clear DTCs on a car it is not paired to that car? I'm guessing yes but I don't feel like loaning one of my APs to a coworker if it isn't going to work. It's paired so he can't load maps but I wonder if it will even allow it to connect to read and clear DTCs...

In other news amazon sells coil packs for $33 bucks, Turner is $55. Turner isn't responding to my emails asking to cancel my order. That is one hell of a mark up.

Let me tell you a story:
Max bought a G35 because BMW wouldn't approve his credit for a 335i. He shows up to this drive and, luck would have it, there just happen to be 14910197 335is there too! Well, Max has had enough of this crap. He NEEDS to show these guys and squash the insecure part of himself that still yearns for kidney grilles and unreliable fuel pumps. So he goes balls-out in the canyons, passing 335is on the wrong side of the road and rocketing up to speeds his G35 never achieved when it was piloted by its previous Jersey Shore guido owner. He whips around a corner on the wrong side of the double yellow and BAM! gets nabbed for 100 in a 35. Max gets hit with a $600 fine, but of course since his credit sucks, he can't pay it and spends a couple nights in jail until he can secure a loan from a bail bondsman at 35% interest. This loan will haunt him for the rest of his life, just because he decided to go on a group cruise.

That one worked well, especially since one of my good friends has a G35.

This described our meets pretty well:

1) The Brand-Specific Car Meet

Car models are referred to by their chassis codes in hushed tones. Automaker-brand apparel is worn. Jokes are made at the archrival car company's expense. Pictures are taken to capture the unforgettable moment of 25 nearly identical hatchbacks occupying a fast food restaurant parking lot. Bros tell stories of how fast their cars are to other bros who drive the exact same cars, often with the same mods. Occasionally, the colossal jerk-fest over a single brand actually produces some sound technical advice, as someone else probably just spent either 10,000 hours or 10,000 dollars performing the mod/repair you are considering.

Well, +1 for New Country BMW in Hartford. Service rep guy I talked to on the weekend was really nice and even had me email him my video of wastegate rattle so he'd have it on file to push for the replacement. He called me yesterday to tell me that he got it approved and just ordered two brand new turbos for me and that a full replacement is being done.

Score.
