hi everybody, 1stly thanks for all your hard work. I have a problem I'm hoping someone can help me out. I installed bmw tools from bimmergeek and coded my 07 e92 successfully with a k+Dcan cable from ebay. As of late my cars been throwing error codes at me mainly DSC malfunction. I read somewhere in this forum that a good software to use for error code diagnostics is insta so I went back to bimmergeek and downloaded their rheingold. Everthing installed fine and the software boots up fine but I'm getting no communication from my car to the software. When I close insta and open inpa I do have communication with inpa and ncs expert. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

When you first open Ista D you have to go to the interface page and set the interface for type of cable you have. Also you have to drop in the the large software key at least on every install I have ever seen.
Ista D from bimmergeeks also requires that Inpa be working first.

See entry 13 in the above link.
set to shown in entry 13 for k/d can cable.

Thank you ctuna so much for your reply and I must apologize for my lack of details on my part on the first post. I'm working with windows 10 64bit on a 07 335i e92. Inpa is working and so is NCS expert, which is the 2 programs I worked with never tried any of the other software that came with the standard tools. After a few unsuccessful attempts I did manage to find the settings and has try each of those settings in the entry 13 from the above link even tried rebooting insta after each change of settings. I did follow the instruction that came with the download from bimmergeeks as closely as possible step by step and do remember doing that Hugh software key from the txt file. I'm wondering if I need to use that insta loader thing?

Anyone got a current download for a full version of ISTA-D? I actually purchased one on eBay for $10 bucks. It connected to my 2019 F87 fine. Saw the modules and bmw specific codes. But that was it. No CBS reset functions listed or worked. Like brake percent, engine oil, no PDF’s either. Total was 25gig and I think the fully loaded up they are like 50 gigs for D.

Seller was a major asshate too and did not want to help at all.

Might purchase with another seller. Downloading torrents you never know what you will get also and downloads could take forever.

If anyone has a full working version please PM me!

Bimmergeeks has ISTA-D and INPA setups that work. Includes install instructions...free.

any car past 2013 needs the esys as far as I know)
There is and option to select ethernet as and interface
on the Bimmergeeks. net downloads don't know how that
works. Also you will need and esys cable with that they
are quite cheap.

How do you program? Do I need an adapter for it? Where to buy the adapter?

bimmergeeks.net downloads are known to work and also one
of the simpler downloads to install. There cable is known to be the best
one. F series cars and beyond require esys which I don't know
much about but I understand is included in Ista +.
Also bimmergeeks will help you can get through to them.

Is there a guide on how to install the program in PC and get it to the point where it starts to work. I tried it a couple of times. Not able to bring to a point where it is ready to scan. Thank you

The instructions are included in almost every download available.
Try looking in the folders you downloaded.

Again if you have a F series car or beyond there will be some variations
to the Interface setup to get Esys going . You need to go to a board that
supports that or start collecting info from the Internet about that.

Ista problems
https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1581663

If you are technically challenged there are people on here that will do a remote
setup for you. But then again maybe you should buy one of the canned setups
like Bimmergeeks pro tools.
I don't think that supports F series and beyond though.

I used the Bimmergeeks Standard Tools to get INPA installed and then followed a "ISTA+ Installation Guide v4.10" PDF's to get Rheingold/ISTA installed. The only thing I want these tools to do is read/clear codes and reset adaptations. After doing a CBU, everything seemed fine but then got an SES which indicated that a Wheel Adaptation needed to be reset. No problem.

However, there were a few other adaptation resets that mik325tds suggested, but some of them failed. Here are the software versions I have installed:

System, ISTAGUI, RheingoldCoreFramework - 4.10.15.15600
Data - R4.10.15
ISTA Database - 4.10.12

I'm curious to find out if newer versions will allow me to do these resets, but I really don't want to jack up my current install. So question is, how and what do I need to upgrade (e.g., Rheingold, SP-Datens, SQLite DB's, etc.)?

Many thx!

Ista d installation

Hi,
2007 BMW E90 320i Japan model
As you will tell from my post below, I am not very computer literate.
I am trying to sync the EWS with the DME to fix error code 2F44.
I tried using INPA, but get an error msg as below.
I also have NCS Expert, WinKPF and BMW Coding Tool downloaded as part of "Mike's BMW Tools". My PC is Windows 10, 64 bit
I tried downloading Rheingold and it is currently sitting in my C drive as a folder. Clicking on it opens up numerous other folders, and I selected TesterGUI and clicked thru until i came to ISTAgui.exe
When I double click on this I get an error message as below
Could someone please help to:
Advise if any of the programs I have can be used to sync the EWS and DME and the steps involved
OR how do I carry out the installation of the Rheingold/ISTA so that I can sync the EWS and DME.
I would greatly appreciate your help as I have been struggling with this for 4 months now.

Recommend you download from Bimmergeeks links and follow the directions in the README file. It is the easiest setup to begin with.

I deleted all the software I had downloaded from various sources and downloaded Standard Tools from Bimmergeeks.
I was then able to resolve my problem by:
Opened INPA, Selected "Body", "Car Access System", F6 to activate. Ignore the error message and select OK, "F2 - Sync Motor ECU". Done.
Turn off ignition, wait 10 seconds. Turn on ignition, hold breath and press start.
Success!!
I hope this helps others who may be in the same boat.

My thanks to all who offered advice and suggestions.

Hi, Where do I copy all the files to for ISTA-P using with ICOM?

SDP 4.15.12.7z\PSdZ\data_swi\psdzdata\
BLP 4.15.12.7z\PSdZ\data\psdzdata\

I don't want to use any symbolic links so what are the destination folders?
