Is this Intercooler still usable/fixable?

Had this VRSF 7.5 Intercooler installed on my 135 when it got wrecked. Is it possible to get it fixed? Haven't been able to test if there's any leaks but I'm assuming there is just looking at the damage.

Agreed, test it is the only way to find out.

Even with the damage that is a very big intercooler so absolutely a performance gain. You can use a small screwdriver carefully or buy a special comb to straighten the fins to bring it back even more

Bent fins are the least of his issues here...

Pressure and fitment test it. If it hold pressure and bolts up properly, why not run it? In that shape it'll still perform better than stock, plus it's already paid for.

I would run it as long as it does not leak.

Interesting question part of the thread: If there is a tiny hole on 1 of bass bars in the middle and air is leaking out under pressure, what are the symptoms and effects on the car?

If it's leaking, it's a boost leak. So depending on how bad it may just run inefficiently and lag a bit or it could leak enough to really put a damper on performance.

Find a local radiator shop, have them pressure test it and straighten out as many of the fins as they can. Or sell it on ebay for whatever you can get out of it, and buy a new one.

That.

Maybe make it a weekend project for resale, pressure testing, cleaning up the fins, and polishing it up a bit.

But putting that on invites too many risks of issues to make it worth while, unless you really like installing and removing intercoolers.
