E90 DIY Cargo Net Solutions

Hi all,

After using for a long time, I didn't come across any DIY Cargo Net solutions sans one that included a Lexus Hammock style net.

I drive a 2008 E90 Sedan and currently have the BMW OEM All-Weather Cargo Mat installed in my trunk, and there are 4 hooks (thank god, I've heard the post-2010 3-series only have 1 hook...) so I'm looking preferably to have a net that blocks off a section of the trunk so that I can put groceries and my basketball/football in there and not have it roll around.

Has anyone figured out a way to do this?

does anyone know the size of the OEM BMW net?

I use one I kept from my previously owned 2001 Cadillac Catera. It is rectangular in shape and has plastic clips at each corner that clip rather well to the metal anchors. It is a little bigger than what I would like but the price was right. Maybe a quick measure for dimension between hooks and try a walk thru the local auto wrecking lots and check trunks. I would have to guess that you could find one near the size that would fit. Who knows they may only be a couple of bucks...............

I picked up the cargo net pictured below at AutoZone. I tied a knot in the ends to shorten it up for the particular application I needed, then connected it to the front hooks using a bungee cord. I don't know if this will satisfy your needs or not...

ah, interesting, so thats what a post 2009 335's trunk looks like. so you only have the two hooks pictured, and no hooks closer to the trunk lid?

thanks all for the input, i bought a cargo net from Target over the weekend for $10 going to see if i can figure a way out to make this work. keep you posted!

There are two more hooks in the back of the trunk (towards the rear bumper), you just can't see them in the picture.

Good luck with your solution.
