I had a 335d for a few years, with a re-map and it was faultless. Only issue was the boost hose which is hardly a real issue.

There are usually a few 335d for sale on here of varying ages but if you are looking for the cheapest car you are probably in the wrong place. Owners here are enthusiasts who look after their cars, some over estimate what their car is worth but others will be more realistic.

I would aim lower on the miles if it was me. What is your budget?

+1

Sound advice

I'd pay a premium for a well cared example. I sold my last 335d for only £1500 less than I paid after driving 12500 miles, though I did spend a good amount on keeping it pristine (plus the time and care).

The prices do tend to fluctuate quite a bit, it is possible to buy them from dealers towards the end of sales quarters, just get a spec in mind and patiently observe the prices for six to eight weeks and you'll likely find a good one.

You are looking at 26-27k for a 2010 LCI car from a dealer with 20k mileage approx.

More like 22k for a very high mileage LCI.

You can get a pre LCI 07 car for 14k now in m sport with high miles.

You need to decide what you want, gague autotrader - and make a decision

I'd get the LCI if you can afford it. But I'm biased.

thanks lads,

@dxb335d, yeah i heard of that problem, also heard it is better to take the particle filter out as it improves the fuel economy etc

@davyk31 , thats true, mate its better to get the best, would rather get a car from here than ebay or pistonheads, as i know they look after cars very well , looking for below 15000 pounds, a bit picky with colour, would prefer white or grey but dont mind black or silver, but it has to have red nappa leather interior . looking for a 07 or 08 one, cant afford a 09 or 10, looking at getting it in november time, need to sell my e46 coupe first .

@spirocheter, been looking at 335d in websites for the past 6 months, comparing prices, to, good ones going for like 13000- 15000, for my spec, intending of keeping it for like 3-4 yrs, so being picky.
yeah i been told about buyng cars in the end of the year , as dealers want to booast there sales, record up.

@MEGA, nice display pic mate , erm dont have that much to spend, but if i was gonna spend 26-30 for that, i would rather get another 5 to 10 k, and get a nissan gtr(going to get abused for saying this lol, but always been a skyline fan ), but yeah would like the new ones tho mate

There's many a Skyline fan on here mate. How about a nice 335i if you're happy to go petrol - deffo worth considering if you don't do the miles.

You need to do the maths mate.
If doing less than 12k a year there won't be much difference in cost over a three year spread.
Once you factor in the 335i being a couple grand or more cheaper...

^ But it's also cheaper when you sell it again!

I did the maths and over 3 years I worked it out only to be 8k or so you need to do!

Based on the current diff between petrol, diesel in both price and mpg.

@OP. OK. So.. Get yourself an '07 and then fit the LCI rear lights, get some LUX H8 bulbs for the front, and then some 313 reps or other fresher alloy.. Then finally get it fully detailed. 15k for the car, 1.5k in mods and the detail, and you'll have a nice fresh car
