Mechanical Advice for 2008 335i N54

Hey guys,

I'm getting the following codes but I'm not exactly sure what it could be.

2AA2 Camshaft sensor, inlet, gap loss
3100 Boost-pressure control, deactivation
2A9E Camshaft sensor, inlet, synchronization
2A9A Crankshaft - inlet camshaft, synchronization
2AA0 Camshaft sensor, inlet, signal

I am currently getting a half engine light and sometimes, I am getting long starts. It's worth noting that I switched the exhaust and intake position sensors about a month because I got an OBD code that said one of them was bad. What could this be? Any help would be appreciated!!

So, a month ago, was the error on the intake or exhaust? Did the error move with the swap or go away entirely?

The general code I got before that prompted me to switch the sensors was P0365. The code didn't come back after I erased it

P0365 is exhaust. So your problem began as an exhaust cam timing issue, you cleared the code and it didn't return right away but you swapped sensors exhaust to intake anyway. Now the cam-related codes are appearing again but related to the intake.

This suggests you should just replace the intake (formerly exhaust) cam sensor. Unless when you said "switched" sensors actually meant you replaced them both, rather than swapped them.

Solved! I ended up replacing both camshaft sensors and she's running great again. Thank you!!
