Neither of the cooling modes affect fan operation. Only water pump and thermostat, fan still won't come on until stock setting 226 degrees.
That makes sense.

226 degrees? Before the fan kicks in!

Is there a problem running fan from 200 degrees automatically?

I mean why have BMW set it so high a temp before it kicks in?
Kinda off thread but does anyone know if the IS fan is worth upgrading to?
What would you upgrade it with?
The fan of the 335IS is supposedly much more powerful and efficient at cooling than the oem 335i. Supposedly needs a relay other say it's plug and play.
I have a buddy that has a 335is. Yes, it's bigger and more powerful. Not cheap brand new anyways.

I haven't read hardly any posts of people on this forum upgrading their fans to the 335is fan.

Idk...

Anyone know if you can use the thor wifi adapter for MHD?? Looks like those are in stock & you can use it for xhp, protool, and a few others

MHD also says that the adapter will be compatible, or will soon be compatible for thor and all those others

Could do what I do and that is have the tablet for tuning and monitoring on the wifi and then you can still use your phone for waze for nav and keeping up with speed traps. Best of both worlds.

Dunno about fan but I read upgraded Aluminium Radiator or M performance one helps with cooling.

It's negligible. I have the CSF aluminum radiator and it helps during hot days and probably tracking, but once the coolant temps reach 220, it's 220. One thing a I hate about the CSF radiator is in winter time it takes like 1/2 hour of driving for my car to reach a point where the heater starts working.

That's one of two reasons why I didn't get it! I'm not waiting 30 min to heat up the car when it's 5 degree F out in the dead of winter....

That doesn't make any sense. Doesn't matter how good a radiator works, you still have a thermostat.

If it's working properly your car should take the same time warm up as anything else.

It takes much longer to warm up, more volume capacity in the CSF by a third or something to seemed like refilling the car with antifreeze. As soon as I installed the CSF, my heater takes forever to get to temp, it's crazy. Once it starts heating it's fine.

Hmmm... Sounds like there is some other issues causing the 30 min delay in heating up,

An upgraded radiator should not extend heater times to 30 mins before it warms up.

Thermostat sounds stuck open. As already mentioned, the radiator does nothing until the thermostat opens.

Idk If it should make a difference, pretty sure I've done both. But only use the one up top and see if it works. Those options should stay selected even if you back out of the app completely. .
