RHD mirrors on LHD

Has anyone successfully fitted mirrors from RHD E9x onto their LHD car?

I've read in one thread that mirror motors need to be swapped or the mirror switch will co tril both sides when in left position.

However, besides that, does RHD left mirror mounted on LHD left side have a correct angle of view? Again, somewhere I've seen that the angle of the mirror housing is off and the glass cannot be adjusted to a proper viewing angle.
Can anyone confrm if he housing is physically angled differently or does it have something to do with motor range adjustment?

Thanks!

Sit in the passenger seat and see if you can adjust your current mirrors to a satisfactory position as if you were driving from there. Should indicate whether the viewing range will work.

Yeah, I was afraid that's the case. It does sound like the housings are angled towards driver (imagine that!).
OK, I'm scrapping my plans for using RHD mirrors...

I'm not saying it doesn't work. I've no idea. I'm saying try it.

Well, I have to report that this is a no go.
There definitely isn't enough adjustment range on a passenger side mirror to cover the needed viewing angle for a driver.

This is because the physical mirror bases are angled according to the driver position (LHD vs RHD).
