There is a 2009 (LCI) Bluewater Metallic E91 with sport package and shadowline trim located near me. Has brushed aluminum trim as well, automatic. 101k Miles, black Dakota leather interior. What would you all pay for something like this? It is not my ideal color but I'm thinking I may be waiting too long.

Or should I just spend the enthusiast money and hit the current E91 market with BaT, etc.?

I bought a RWD/Sport 2009 model with 104k on it for 9600 in February from a small dealer. Mine had some hidden issues, but I thought the price was decidedly mid-range. I probably could've gotten more off if I pushed harder.

If you are willing to monitor the search often (twice weekly, at the very least) and are comfortable driving home up to 1000 miles you can absolutely find one. Check the forums, autotempest, BMWCCA, craigslist, etc. Be ready to act quickly with a PPI and follow-up deposit if need be.

There are still clean cars at solid prices out there, with a small premium for stick shift.

I'm going with the "pick 2" approach myself. Figure out the 3 most important things to you and pick 2 - because you're going to have a hard time on all 3.

for me its - body color - interior color - transmission

Obviously condition and price have a lot to do with that decision and there are a few that won't even get considered because of reasons. But, if I find 2 out of 3 it's a good buy IMO.

Regardless, based on year and transmission - under 10k is the market right now I think.

Good point, I'm going to pass on the Bluewater Metallic. I know in the long run I would not be happy with it.

As for your comment on the market being under $10k, I haven't seen many E91s with sport package for under $10k.

The pick 2 approach is ideal, though I'd focus on the interior and transmission as the 2.

For real! It's like a scratch that needs itching all. Day. Long.

I drove over 1200 miles to pick up mine, made a deposit on it the day after it was posted.

Keep up the good fight!

My wagon is sold and heading off to a new buyer as soon as the truck shows up. Sounds like its going to a good home.

yeah not tons - I've found about 5 but maybe only 1-2 worth buying. But, it's only worth what you're willing to pay for it.

Like this one has been floating out there for awhile - but, given its car fax history and the fact that they can't be bothered to attach the front bumper even for pictures makes it a hard pass sadly.

This one looks pretty good and if it was closer I'd probably get it despite the color and the auto trans

https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...NX=PSEMAILLEAD

Some RWD ones:
https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...Type=spotlight

So there are a handful around if you look deep enough but, yeah not many sport packages to be found regardless of price.

I hear you! As soon as Robin posted his wagon https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1628666
I contacted him and set up a meet, and then called off of work and booked a hotel room. I drove 3 hours south, put down a deposit, and had to wait another week to drive back down and pick it up. 12 hours of driving, two nights at a hotel...worth it.
Good luck to all of those still in the hunt. It's worth it in the end!

I like that one in Thousand Oaks. I think $6400 is a great price for that car. Good colors in my opinion.

Even cheaper in the same color combo -

https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/costa-mesa-bmw-325xi-wagon/6924160541.html

AWD, non Sport, and higher miles. Might be a decent deal for $4k though.

Yeah that second one, Bluewater Metallic, is what I was referring to earlier. It is about an hour away from me. Has sport package, xDrive (which I prefer and my wife for Michigan winters), black interior, and Cold Weather package. The only thing stopping me is the color. I just don't know if I would be satisfied in the long run as I would end up putting M-Sport bumpers on. Maybe wrap it?! Lol

Mad1stgen has a beautiful Alpine White M-Sport that I would love to buy! But need to convince my wife to let me spend a little more haha.

I like building them, owning not so much On top of it, this F31 is begging for a B58 swap

I have a full black wagon sport interior which would make that Bluewater POP
