Alright I was wondering if anyone had coded this or there was an option for it.

The trunk handle in the back will only pop the trunk open when both doors are unlocked. If you were just driving and get out of the car, one door will be locked and the other will be open because you opened it to get out. If you go to the back of the car to open the trunk it won't open and you have to go all the way to the front to touch the button to pop it open.

Is there any way to code the trunk popper to open with just one door open or rather unlocked instead of needing to have both of them unlocked?

Carly app can allow boot unlocking whilst the rest of the car is locked, but not sure if this is what your re asking, sure it can also be done with NCS-expert too if you search through the forums. I coded that out a while back but put it back to stock, as I quickly realised it's to protect you from locking the keys in the boot by mistake. Maybe not an issue on an E92 though...

You could alternatively turn off the auto door lock at low speed, which would leave the boot open with all other doors until you lock the car. Not ideal but gives you the result.

I wonder how the system as setup from the factory actually prevents you from locking in your key as I haven't taken that case into account. Been reading around to see if I can do it with bmw tools instead of having to buy Carly

What year/model car? My 2010 335i doesn't do that, I can open the trunk no matter what doors are locked/unlocked. I do have CA, so maybe that makes a difference.

Mine also has a trunk pop button down by the hood release lever. Does yours not have that?

Mine has the button by the hood release and works. I was just trying to be able to open it from the back whenever the car was unlocked not just when both doors are.
I've had a 2009 128i which did the same thing so idk if something was changed in 2010.

I do know the E9x the newer models don't have a keyhole in the trunk. So maybe the cars without the keyhole for some reason do what yours does without requiring both doors to be unlocked? Idk
