Hello all,
Thought I would share my review of my newly installed XClutch twin disc clutch! With about 800 miles on the clutch since install I must say I'm thoroughly impressed. Shifting is so satisfying with this clutch it's incredible. With the stock flywheel and clutch I always felt like I could never get a smooth engagement no matter how hard I tried. There always seemed to be a drivetrain clunk even if it was just a mild one. With this clutch the shifts are buttery smooth when you get the revs right. I'm sure it still getting a little broken in but 1st gear is still taking a while to get used to. The pedal feel is probably 50% stiffer than stock (this is personal feel though) and it really wants to grab off the bat. I still haven't found that sweet spot of revs but I'm slowly learning and am enjoying the challenge. My idle is set to 750 and I have not really had any chatter besides when the AC is on which is to be expected. The clutch is definitely loud when the pedal's depressed and when you're under a heavy load, say at around 1700 in 4th and slowly climbing, but goes away around 2200 rpm's. Rev matching with the single mass flywheel is also much easier with smaller blips to the throttle getting me right where I need. Currently FBO stage 2+ MHD and not a shred of slippage. Eventually planning on going single turbo so I decided to just go as best I can since I was in need of a new clutch anyways. Overall I'd highly recommend this clutch for anyone on the market!

Also if anyone has any tips for smoother first gear engagement with twin discs let me know

How has this clutch been? My stock clutch is slipping and am trying to decide on a clutch. Did you go single yet? Kinda curious on how it handles the power and overall how you like it. TIA

Mines been on for a year, FBO upgraded turbos running E40. Very happy with this clutch. Break in is rough, but smooths out in time. Guessing i'm over 500whp

I did tranny mounts at the same time. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Vibrations are horrid. I went back to OEM mounts.

Great review. The X clutch have been very popular recently. Enjoy it!

Engagement may improve after some miles, really depends on driving habits but give it a few hundred miles.

Hi allcaps55, approximately how many miles do you have on the Xclutch now? Is it easier/smoother now to engage the clutch in first gear?

Hi fredcase, approximately how many miles do you have on your Xclutch? What was the worst part during the break-in period? Have you experienced any issues with this clutch kit?

I’m about 10-15k km now. The first 5k was really tough. It’s really smooth now. Still a little grabby, but, it’s expected. No issues.

Unless a car is intended to have 650 + WHP what is the point of a dual clutch?

That would be the point and should be the only point.

Every clutch should be purchased based on the amount of power the vehicle has.

A little room to spare is fine but overdoing it when you don't need to can definitely be the wrong direction for some.

Anyone who thinks running a Stage 5 clutch when you only need a Stage 2 would be doing themselves a disservice. Those are arbitrary "Stages" for a reason the point is if you make 450TQ you don't need a 700TQ clutch.

Hey silver,
Been a little absent from the forums for a while but I have about 6k on mine now and it's great to drive. Honestly right after 1000 it became really easy. First 100 were brutal though. I still stall out if I'm not paying attention but that happens on a regular clutch as well. Overall I'm enjoying it a lot more than the stock clutch.
