E9x at night in pictures

How does your E90, E91, E92, or E93 look at night?

Colors look much different when the lighting has changed.

There are many great photos in the beautiful pictures thread, but few show our beautiful cars at night. Let's pool some of our pictures together in one place showing nightime photos in various lighting and weather conditions.

Under an overcast sky, Montego blue is rather muted in tone, something like a navy blue. With bright sunshine, Montego blue is a bright blue. At night, it can take on an indigo tint. The type of lamps in the street lights affect that.

Here are a couple pictures I took of my E92 well after sundown. My digital camera was on a tripod so a long exposure would be possible.

The sky was clear. Sunset was about 9:00 PM, but had already sank below the hills surrounding this neighborhood before then. Artificial light was from a very tall yellow/green street light that was out of view well to the left of the camera. Reflected light from a few houses was unwanted, but what can you do in town?

Here's a few Sparkling Graphite. A lot of people say SG has alot of different shades under different lighting. I agree! The first few are during the sunset, and the last few are at night under some light in a parking lot.

Did you ever get that 35% tint and if so how did that work out?

No. I never have gotten the tint yet. I would really like to, but I haven't worked out the details on what type of film, and who to do it. I don't want to have a bad look around the dot matrix. I'm procrastinating on tint.

To refer to the post, list the URL with {url} placed at the beginning and {/url} at the end. To show the inline image, use [img] at the beginning and [/img] at the end. Always use squre brackets rather than the other kind. ie: Your original picture is at http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1153348325. Place that URL between [img] and [/img] to show the picture.

BTW: your old car was a beuty as is your newer one. Will you be posting some night shots?

I just set up a tripod in the back seat (one leg in each footwell, the other leg shortened and on the center console). You can see through my right hand because I reached down to trip the shutter (with a wired remote) before putting it back on the wheel.
