Going in for 30k mile service. What to expect?

Hey guys, I'm about to go in for my 30k service for my 328xi and I was wondering what to expect. How long should this take? Will they give me a loaner? Also, are there any things I should ask them to check or do while I'm there?

oil change, cabin filter, air filter, lookaround car, wipers if you mention it streaking. thats probably about it, loaners depend on the dealership, if it's just those 4 things then it'll probably be 1.5 hrs, most likely they won't give you a loaner for that time length.

my lexus dealer gave me a loaner whenever i brought my car in, but that's usually because i tell them i can't pick it up same day and i have to work after i drop it off. So if you really need a loaner, you can mention this when u set your appointment and see what they say

I always get a loaner from my dealer... even if it's just for oil change.

How close are you to an oil change? The dealer may not do it if the car isn't calling for it. Same with the other maintenance items. The 30K periodic inspections are just that - they hook up the computer, look at the readout for any faults and perform a general visual inspection.

my car is at th dealer now getting the 30k service, brakes, and hpfp replaced. My SA didnt mention anyhting about a oil change, which I dont need. Is the bmw factory oil the same as castrol 0w-30 european forumla? Thats what I have in my car now and I really dont feel like swapping it out if bmw uses a differnt castrol oil

My dealer usually has about ~1 week wait for loaner cars... you have to call ahead, but it is part of the free maintenance program, so you are entitled to it as an owner.
