FMIC Recommendation?

Hey all,

I'm looking to get a FMIC for my 335i. I'm leaning towards HPF's but I'm curious to know if anyone has picked up autowerks w/ the side panel casing? HPF and Autowerks seem to have the largest surface area which coincidently have the highest purchase price.

Also, if anyone has either of these FMIC's, how difficult was the install -- it looks pretty straight forward to me.

Well anything is better then the stock one, but er has the biggest surface area without cutting i believe.

False, the only one that doesn't require cutting is the ETS 5" FMIC. Most of the other's in the 7" range require trimming (ER, HPF, etc).

CP-e is a good value....and it comes with a secondary oil cooler for the same price.

you must have an existing oil cooler in place those.

False. The ETS 5 inch intercooler does not require any trimming yes, but neither does the newer Helix units! ER intercooler if i recall correctly, requires a slight bit of trimming. Not 100% sure about the ER intercooler though.

We've installed several of the CP-e intercoolers, and I have one on my car. We saw a healthy horsepower gain:

The red line is with AccessPort and downpipes; the blue line is the same, but with the addition of the CP-e intercooler. Green is the same car with no mods.

The ETS requires no trimming. The ER would require some trimming.

At that point it depends on if you mind trimming and the extra cost for the ER.

There are lots of available options out there with certain features that you might like over another intercooler company. I'd suggest comparing and contrasting the benefits and features over each individual intercooler to see which one looks the best, because everybody has an opinion on what they like the best

My choices whenever I decide to get one:
Helix, ETS, CP-E. I would look at AMS but that requires cutting.
