It's fairly common to hear about cracked stock rims btw...
Definitely - especially the MV4 in 19" - that thing was notorious for cracking on the inside lip.

So I have decided to keep the AG M359s (they just look toooooo good) and have just ordered some tyres from Camskill in the UK - the brand spankers Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, which isn't to be confused with the Pilot Sport 4, which is more a replacement for the Pilot Sport 3. The 4S is the replacement for the PSS and is meant to out-do it in every way, especially in the wet.

If anyone is interested, I ordered 265/30R19 and 235/35R19, and with the conversion rate, shipping costs, and then VAT deduction off both purchase and shipping, the total came to GBP828, or around NZD1,450. Obviously there's GST to pay on arrival, and $30 a tyre fitting costs at this end, but overall I'm pretty excited about getting hold of them.

They're meant to be really light tyres too, so any additional weight of the 19's will be partially offset anyway.

For reference, I weighed the Avant Gardes over the weekend - the front 19x9" weighed 11.9kg and the rear 19x10s weighed 12.5kg. Stock M193 wheels weigh 11.23kg and 11.93kg respectively, so only a reasonably small increase.

No worries at all! I should have them fitted and ready to go on a week or two. Pretty excited about how they'll look. To be fair, I weighed then on $50 bathroom scales from Bunnings, so the weights could be off, but I'll take them anyway!

Thanks for the info KiwiRD (Great prices)

Do those tyres have more of a rounded or square edge ? I'm still nervous that these rims and tyres will fit without rubbing. Although I checked the tyres I have on now which are 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 which have a bigger outside diameter than the 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 so remaining hopeful. Hopefully the lower profiles are not too harsh.

Good to hear about the weights also, based on a article the 19's may be better for rotational inertia due to the tyres being lighter which is on the most outer part of the diameter.

I think they're meant to be the same profile and overall slightly 'broader shouldered' style as the Pilot Super Sport. I'll check them out properly when they arrive in a week or so and let you know. I must admit I'm not sure huge fan of the overly stretched look. I don't mind a bit of stretch, but part of the reason I went with the Michelin was for the wider shoulders.

The way I understand it is essentially PSS(PS4)are one size wider than other tyres 255 fit like 265
265 fit like 275

If you ever run a tape measure across them you can see the difference. I went with 235 and 265 pss on my 225m's and I don't mind the fatter look with less stretch

There are others yes but not that I've used. If you ask at your local tyre shop they would know

I think the Good Year Eagle F1 Asymmetric series are meant to be quite broad. Falken and Hankook are quite 'slim' so to speak. For me, running a 265 on a 10" wheel and a 235 on a 9" wheel I wanted the broadest possible.

Hey KiwiRD, can you let me know where you purchased your tyres from overseas? Cheers
