After market Airflow sensor BMW E92 325i

Hi Guys

just recently purchased my first BMW, N52 E92. i need to replace the mass airflow sensor as its coming up as a fault code and causing my engine light to come on. what i thought would be an easy fix is proving to be difficult as im having trouble getting my hands on a genuine sensor for a reasonable price. was quoted $650 from BMW and $900 for an aftermarket one from REPCO.

I've seen a lot of aftermarket ones on ebay ranging from $50 (chinese supplier) to $200...

Question is, do the cheaper ones work? and will they clear my fault code? Has anyone experienced aftermarket airflow sensors and what were you experiences.... really don't want to fork out $650 for a genuine one...

also is there a reliable local supplier here in Australia, all the sensors seem to be in UK or USA.... this is starting to become frustrating... just want my engine light gone :/

thanks in advance

Is the part number 13627520519?

Outside BMW dealerships and wreckers, Clickable and Runautoparts are only only Aussie based traders I know of (stay away from sparesbox half the time your order will just vanish and they wont return your phone calls etc)

I had a quick look on the aussie shops and the cheapest I could find was like $750

Everything comes from UK and USA (the Aussie traders get theirs from there too) so not unusual to buy parts from OS
Fakes come from China, look like the real thing but rarely work

I buy all my parts from FCPEuro in the USA
If it is a non-mechanical part like a wheel lining, Ill pick these up from someone local who is parting out or wrecking a car (heaps on FB marketplace)
If the car is off the road and I cant wait for a part, I will as a last resort buy it from a local BMW dealership.
I think I have done this only once in 5 yrs

If i were you I would order the VDO sensor from FCPeuro for $197 USD
Order a few other things you need to make shipping worthwhile

Could you share a little bit more about your story? Did the part actually come out good?

Have you tried cleaning your existing sensor first?
