Price to change a Head?
I had an N54 bare block brought in and leakdown tested by a shop, they said the head leaked, so I brought in another Head known to by good to swap on. They put the new head on, re-leakdown tested, as well did the oil pan gasket, and valve cover gasket.
I took took it to a machinist myself to deck it. Anyone know how many shop hours you would expect billed for this work? Thanks |

I assume that qoute is including removing the engine.
I removed the engine and brought just the bare block/head in, as I am not comfortable setting the timing myself. |

yes that quote is with engine removal + re-install (aprox. 20-25hrs shoptime).
if your replacement head already had valves+cams already installed too, deduct another 3-5 hrs. |
