Prince & Queen
What I don't quite understand, is that people flock to this guy at BJBMW to buy cars. I would love to know if he's giving some sort of preferential treatment or incredibly good deals to people who seek him out.
When I first started looking at buying an E90; I went to all the dealerships, but I was really looking for someone who I felt I could trust. I guess that's why I ended up at Parkshore If there's someone on the boards who has bought from the 'Queen' or 'Prince' of BMW; could you please tell us why and what is so special about these two individuals? Honestly, the thought of someone calling themselves the 'Queen' or 'Prince' of BMW; brings up horrible thoughts of shady salesmen. Kinda reminds me of this guy.

thanks for the clarification
Hey guys-
Thanks for the clarification. It wasn't really that I thought they were like Tom Vu; cause he's a legend, I mean, wouldn't YOU buy a house from that guy As for the comment about it being mostly a marketing strategy; who's to benefit? Is there a level of prestige amongst the Asian-Canadian community if you bought your car from the 'Prince' or 'Queen'?.. Do they get favourable discounts, extras, or lower interest rates? What's the incentive to buy from these two? Other than to say you bought your car from the self-proclaimed prince of BMW? In Vancouver. Woo hoo... Sorry for the myriad of questions; it's just that this really intreagues me. Maybe I have a warped mind, but I thought most consumers were generally on the same side when it came to things like purchasing cars. Thanks,

i think its a factor of things that people buy cars from those individuals: First, their dealerships are located in the heart of where most Chinese live in Vancouver (E. Vancouver and Richmond); Two, they do massive marketing campaigns in Chinese newspaper, radio and TV; Three, they already have established a big clientel that just continues to refer their friends, family, relatives to buy from these people (snow ball effect); Four, they do give "deals" out to people if they like you or you are a referal and lastly, it has become some sort of a social norm in the Chinese community to buy from these people as you all know the Chinese community in Vancouver is very tightly knitted and people just want to blend in with everyone else to get these so called "deals"
just my $0.02.

Just a reminder
Get your pre-meet location & cruise location suggestions to me in the next couple weeks. I'll be updating the Events Calendar info then, and would like to have some feedback from forum members as to what they'd like to have and see at the next YVR - E90Post.com meet.
If you could mention it in this thread; or PM me with your suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Cruise suggestion: Either to Horseshoe Bay (quite close by) or to Squamish (a little further out).
I'm not sure many members would want to head east. Not much of a drive all the way out to Chilliwack. If we get ambitious one day...I'd love to be part of a 2 or 3 day road trip with other E90post'ers. Perhaps down the Washington Coast to Oregon. |

Depending on the road conditions on the sea-2-sky, Squamish isn't so bad of an idea. The first stretch of that hwy is one of the most enjoyable stretch of road in Vancouver imo.

Even though I suggested it, I'm going nix the suggestion of going to Horseshoe Bay. It's much too close to Vancouver and doesn't feel like much of a drive. We should probably head up to Squamish. We can stop by Furry Creek and those who want to head back can probably go back from there. The rest of us can probably head up to Squamish and have some eats there. |

welcome to the forums luv_alpine92!
if you search some threads for the prices people have been paying; i think you'll find that the amount of $$$ people are saving varies from dealer to dealer and from each person to person. it's got a lot to do with what car you're buying, and what options you're going for. as you spend more money, there's more room to negotiate. there is also extensive discussion about specific dealerships in the lower mainland / GVRD and people's experience at each. again, do a quick search on any dealership you're after and i'm sure you'll find some valuable information. it would be great if you can make it out to the meet; especially if your car's arrived by then. cheers,

They do start at 9AM tho...so by 1PM, one would THINK that it will be cleared out by then...but might be better safe than sorry. I'd be open to meeting somewhere central in West/North Vancouver so we can bypass all the road closures. Is there a good area that would have a good wide parking lot that we could all meet at? Here's the map of the Sun Run... |
