F**K!! It's all well and good to have a little fun and launch off a light, but 190km/hr on Granville Street?
+1,000. Just wait for the bs along the lines of "the road was completely clear so it was safe," or my personal favourite "I only street race when it's safe to do so." In other words "I can see into the future and reverse the laws of physics."

Everyone does stupid things from time to time, but 190 on Granville is criminally stupid.

well that's what happened at first... a launch off the light, and before i knew it i was hitting 190. i slowed down after i looked at the speedo and that was that.

i know what i did was stupid but i'm pretty sure you've done similar things when you were 18 and had just gotten a new car.
anyways, i agree with what you said, that kind of shit shouldn't be happening on a road like granville. i'll control myself next time

a little OT but hey charlie, was it fun doing laps at the parking lot? how did it feel?

haha i have a friend who's basically the same height as you, so that's how i guessed.

and the drag runs in the parking lot wasn't even intentional in the first place. i've been feeling reduced throttle response and more turbo lag, so vansky and i tested eachother's cars to see if that's actually what was happening with my car. then the next thing you know, mike's ripping it in the m coupe and the cls55 started doing runs too lol.

yay UBCers ftw! i park outside the bookstore like everyday, what about you guys?

I applaud and respect your admission that what happened was dangerous and hope that you heed your own advice, and slow down. I have nothing against going fast; it was one of the reasons I chose to own a BMW. But with owning a car capable of high speeds, comes responsibility.

The last thing I want to hear is that someone was going too fast in an E90 (or any car for that matter) and smoked a pedestrian, another car, or a telephone pole. There are too many deaths because of people driving way beyond their ability and their environment.

I'm not going to wax on about the virtues of driving like a geezer, cause honestly, I enjoy a good sprint off a light as much as anyone. But, take your car to a track; get some professional driver training and watch how much more fun driving can be, at speed, and safely!

I could only have imagined owning a car like an E90 when I was 18; my '84 Tercel could barely hit 80 if I was lucky

I hope you get the girl, btw

lol the thing with me is... i only have 2 classes everyday, and so it's almost the same price as parking for that amount of time in any of the lots. plus, my classes are all close to the bookstore which makes it another + for me
