318d & 320d Engine code differences (2007 pre ED)

guys, is there a difference in the 318d and 320d engine codes in the 2007 saloon model?

looked at what i thought was a 320d M-Sport yesterday, had the 320d badges but the free online check says its a 318d?

so im just wondering if its actually a 318d or the online car info is wrong.

any way of checking on the car as i can have access to it tomorrow.

Would have thought a check on the VIN plate would tell you the definitive answer.

can do that monday morning no problem, but i thought i could double check while the car was in front of me.

but i guess to be 100% sure, i will get a copy of the SA3 and double check with the main dealer over here. (My Mate is the parts manager

Yeah main dealer would be a good bet, as soon as you give them the number plate they will know what it is.
