I have always found NA engines use more oil than a turbo.
Never topped up oil in any of the turbo cars I have had, but on the NA cars I am always adding half a litre every 3-5k miles. |

No I don't wait the full. Last one was done at like 10k along with an air/pollen filter change...What on average do you guys do regarding oil services then? Every 8-10k?

Yep, modern day synthetic engine oils are more than capable of doing so.

I change mine anywhere between 5 & 7K as I just don't trust the BMW recommendations. Funny how the oil change interval grew when BMW started offering the maintenance program...

Car owners in the USA have always had these 'lube' services between intervals, which might well be necessary with ordinary mineral oils but not with exotic LL04 spec oils these days.

Buy your LL04 oils via ebay, I bought it at 50% of the retail price.

Put some Castrol Edge 5w 30. Oil level is fine now. It says on the back it's BMW LL-04 too...happy days apart from the price.
