I think the key here is to make sure that white wire is severed from its factory connection.

I did just noticed you mentioned using a relay in your original post. Depending on how it's set up, that could also be your issue. I didn't use a relay since the solenoid isn't really pulling much current anyway.
Just saw your reply lol but I ended up double checking all my wires and my relay setup and realized that my ev1 female connector that came with a pigtail had the wires wrong (positive was black and negative was red lol.) It works good now, the only downside is that if I have the valve closed and come to a complete stop the valve opens, but then it closes once I start driving so I dont mind as long as its open/closed while driving.

Same lol. I don't want to F up my IS muffler but at the same time I don't know if all of this is worth.

Is ground something other than -12V on your car? I'm having trouble understanding the point of this post.

Ahh this is also something I wasn't 100% sure. I couldn't find anything on the IS muffler just speculation. Since the PN is different from MPE it has to be between stock and MPE? I gotta say car sounds loud for sure when it's up the rev range around 4500rpm.

If you put downpipes on an IS, its basically straight pipe aside from the secondary cats.

It has a mild amount of noise dampening in the secondary chambers closest to the center of the rear mufflers, but not much else.

Yes -12V to 12V is saying you are putting 24V to the solenoid, which you could possibly be doing.. So the -12V is not the same as ground voltage..

yes.

ground is 0v. in the case of 12v negative ground automotive electrical systems. the lowest electrical potential. It will accept all electrons.

pedantic? possibly.

but there were also a lot of things that happened in the past like positive ground 6v systems. your chassis would have been +6v and connected to the positive post of the battery.
so "ground" is always a relative term, but in our case, it's 0v.
