Extending hose for PCV CCV during 3SI install

So I have a 330i manifold with 1 connection and the oil separator mounted to the manifold but my N52 VC has the integrated oil separator and 2 intake manifold connections on the hose.

Instead of mucking with my 2-outlet hose too much, I split the smaller breather hose from the 330i intake and I would like to essentially extend it and replace the 2-outlet hose entirely. (picture attached)

My question to you all is, what is the appropriate material to use for this hose extension? I am fine figuring out the tubing dimensions and length but I don't know if there are any recommended material types that would suit this application and be durable for the long term.

I know some of you have done this to some degree, please chime in!

Need 2 hose clamps and some vacuum line. Any auto parts store will have this in stock bring your cut hose with you and they will hook you up.

Thank you! I was reading that silicone vacuum hose doesn't like oil but its not like its flowing oil through it...

It’s not silicone it’s rubber. Vacuum hose is made for PCV lines.

it's much much easier than this.

I have a plastic valve cover n52 with an early 06 manifold with one port.

Take those quick disconnects and carefully cut off the heatsrink like tubing that secures the plastic hose to them. You'll find that they are a barbed hose connector underneath.
Go get some 3/4 hydraulic return hose.
It will slip over the quick connects like it was made for it. Secure with hose clamps
done.

bonus that now you have a big beefy rubber hose so when you pull the manifold off to service something it doesn't break and it's easy to shove out of the way without care.

this is how I solved the problem when I realized it was a problem on a saturday afternoon while installing my manifold. the dealer even replaced my PCV heater with this arrangement under the recall and said nothing.

-12 AN hose may be easier to find if you don't live in a farming community like I do.

tha's oil rated, and 3 feet is long enough to do the job.

edit:
DO NOT USE 3/4 HEATER HOSE.
It is not oil resistant.

good photos.

a sharp #11 blade will take off the heatshrink without damaging the barb.

heater hose will work, but I have experience. After som time it will get real soft and start to collapse under the vacuum.

I ended up with heater hose from a local truck shop. I am trying to come up with a way to keep the tubing as circular as possible to prevent collapsing at the bend...

that's why I recommend hydraulic return hose.
It's stiffer in addition to being fluid resistant.
It's designed to not get sucked closed feeding a hydraulic pump.

mine is just routed straight from the valve cover to the intake without any kind of support or anything. just hangs out there. I made it a little long so I could take the turn wide at the back of the head.
been fine for 20K miles like that.
