Transmission Adaptation Reset

I was wondering thoughts on transmission reset.. I have heard do it at fluid changes, hardware changes or shifting issues.. I asked MHD about getting the option and their statement was to never reset transmission which will cause problems...

don't do it, adaptation reset is for when replacing mechanical parts in the trans. Never part of normal maintenance.

Yeah not planning but there is bad info out there...
https://www.google.com/amp/s/blog.fc...%3fhs_amp=true

"Whenever the fluid is changed
Whenever the software is updated (i.e. Alpina B3 Flash)
Whenever parts are replaced inside the transmission"

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...oXouVYCjwgSm46

"When the fluid is serviced
o When the software is updated (i.e. Custom Calibration or xHP)
o When hard parts are replaced inside the transmission (i.e. High Performance Clutches)"

Sure there's others..

Even xHp says NOT to reset adaptations. Many do though after doing service to their trans. I'd tend to be inclined to listen to xhp though. But you can always email ZF tech's(they are good at answering questions I hear) and ask them their thoughts/opinion on it.
