Hey all,
In regards to the newest iPhones out there like the 7, is there a way to either connect it through Bluetooth or USB? 2008 335i / AFE Intake / NAVI Pac / |

Phone or Audio?
If you have the phone bluetooth you shouldn't have an issue with bluetooth calling. You'll have to add something to get audio. If you have option 6FL, you can use something like the Dension Gateway. If not, you can use a bluetooth dongle plugged into your AUX like the Tunai Firefly. |

If you don't have 6FL, the car isn't prepped to control your phone, and it's expensive ($700+) to retrofit. In that case, you'll either need an external bluetooth device to control playback, or just use your phone/siri. The Tunai is just a bluetooth to AUX dongle that is charged via USB, you then just get a regular USB charger for your 12V "lighter" outlet in your console. I use a similiar hardwire device by JL Audio, the MBT-RX. |

Okay well I thank you for all your advise and suggestions, but after looking up the tunai firefly im curious to as if this would work. I believe my car already has the FL since I have a aux and USB port in the my center console. Ive connected to my phone for calling before, but have always wondered why I cant play music.. and now with the new iphones not having AUX ports im screwed, will the firefly work? the JBL audio device doesn't look simple to install.

Yes, the firefly would work, but you would not have control with the steering wheel/radio controls. |

I had the same issue - I ended up buying a tune 2 air w3000b and that will enable you to stream and control with the steering wheel controls. The ultimate is to retrofit a combox and thats cost me about 200USd but countless hours of research into how to code...

I too have always wondered my my iPhone can never play music, I've tried connecting the phone directly into the USB port in the center console(seemed logically since it works when I plug in my iPod but NOPE).

Buy one of these at your local dealer and you can use everything on iPhone through iDrive except video.
