Exclamation No Bass

I know there are some post on this but im not exactly sure if I have the same problem as other people.

2007 328xi sedan with hi-fi audio

This morning I noticed there was no bass in the music. there was sound and bass from all the speakers except the ones under the seats. i figured it couldn't be a problem with the amp but i still took a look and all seemed fine. i saw some post where people got their amp replaced under warranty (im not anymore ) and other people had the subs replaced under warranty. im willing to replace whatever is broken just need help figuring out what the problem is so i don't waste money replacing a working part

Bass dying on Logic7 is common and seems to be due to the ICs on the board. Not sure about standard hifi.

Perhaps check the speakers are working before ordering new ones? Its likely to be the amp not speakers.

I have tested the speakers under the seats to see if they were blown but both seem to work fine. I wanted the earthquakes as an upgrade but will hold off on them until I figure out the issue.

does anyone know if these speakers have their own fuse or something that would cause them to go out but leave the other speakers working just fine?

If both underseat woofers stopped working at same time, it's likely an issue with the amp.

Also, as said before, you'll want a better amp to push earthquakes down there.

So no matter what, looks like you may need to replace your amp (or fix it) with either an OEM or aftermarket.

If you're going to upgrade your audio later anyway, just change the amp and call it a day.

New amp installed and subs are working great. Thinking of upgrading the door and rear speakers with the Rockford postage upgrade

Is the Rockford "postage" a drop in replacement? There are many kits made for direct replacement in our cars that sound fantastic. Most generic speakers won't fit in the tight places our speakers have.

Also, just had to reference your postage typo. No hard feelings.

A Jehnert Flatline kit will do wonders for the fronts

A Jehnert Flatline kit will do wonders for the fronts

Its both for the doors and floors.
I think its about the same price as just the Fosgate Doors
rated for more power and its one of the most preferred speaker
sets here.

It includes about the best under seat midbass speakers you can get
for these cars, the Jehnert xe200 8 inch.
Its a plug and play kit.(or direct fit with no adaptors)
Gladens and Diamond audio would be next thing on the list for three way kits.

Do you lose any blue tooth or anything going with the JL amp?

The bavaudio amp is like a grand... is there any benefit of the bavaudio amp?

no the bluetooth , usb and ipod are seperate.

1)no the bluetooth , usb and ipod are seperate.
1a)pdc volume can be effected.
2)Bavaudio is using the Helix 82dsp as is Bimmertech.
Bimmertech runs a little cheaper or if you are skilled
you can tune the DSP yourself and buy from Helix. The Helix 82dsp is
a 8 channel amp with DSP . Which means it has what is
equivalent to an equalizer per channel plus time delay.
The power output on it is a little less than the JL at 55 watts
a channel versus 75 for the JL. You get a lot more adjust ability with
the Helix plus with 8 channels you could go active .
Bimmertech was running a group buy on this . There kit comes
with a Harness and Tune.

The Jl 600/6 will make a great sounding system .
The helix should be a little more awesome.

To make either of these work well a three way speaker
kit replacing the front doors and floor is needed.

There are now many more drop in speaker kits the better
ones are from Jehnert and Gladen.
The cheapest is from MbQuart.

You can upgrade the Base and Hi Fi system fairly easily but
the L7 system is much harder to do in a satisfying matter.
