Detroit is such a sh*tshow. Boring ugly downtown, ratchet people everywhere, crummy weather, neighborhoods you shouldn't even drive through during the day. It has zero redeeming qualities.

I'm surprised that Miami isn't higher than 14th. Also surprised Honolulu is higher than both LA and NYC

Miami, all things considered... for it's population is actually quite safe... if you stay away from Overtown, Opa Locka and a couple of other shady areas...

Thing is I feel pretty safe in Baltimore. Drug turf wars, which has made me very anti-drug.

Yay Jackson didn't make the cut this year. We were number 2 or 3 for a while there, and we're still situated nicely between Memphis and NOLA

I actually thought it was getting a bit better, at least the lights are on in the 'burbs now mostly. I drive through it about 6 to 8 times a year on my to Chicago and I have felt a bit safer where I didn't feel as safe in the same area years prior...or maybe I am getting used to it.

I lived in Cleveland for 2 years due to school and it was the worst 2 years of my life. Crime rate was through the roof...

I've been hearing news about Detroit and its gang-related violence. Murder, rape, and robbery all around.

Yes it has definitely improved but it still sucks compared to other cities.

How small do the populations go for these studies? Looking to set up an entry level call centre but don't want it to be somewhere massively sketchy.

Didn't have to even look to know where New Orleans stood on the list... But like many cities, the murders are driven by gang/drug turf wars and are somewhat isolated to certain parts of the city.
