DIY: Upgrading to 335is DCT LED Sport Shifter and Sport Mode Base Plate!
This DIY is using the MotiveMods Kit which is the best plug and play kit that uses OEM parts. Other Asian-made plastic kits (BIMMIAN, AlibBabab, eBay-Tiawan , DEPO, etc...) uses plastic parts and do not come with a sports mode base plate.
This BMW DCT Steptronic Led Shifter/Sport Base Plate Retrofit Kit that replaces the standard Automatic Shifter and Base Plate on ALL Left Hand Drive (LHD) Steptronic E90, E91, E92, E93 BMW 3 Series Sedans, Coupes, Wagons, Convertible from 2006 until 2012. Also fits both xDrive and Rear Wheel Drive cars! https://www.motivemods.com/BMWRetrof.../mm-sst-d3.htm Once you get the kit and shave an inch or so off your Steptronic stalk then the DIY takes less than 5 minutes. Some Before and After Pictures: DIY: When you first get the kit and attempt to install it before cutting stalk the shifter will sit high. It will work fine but will be too aesthetically tall relative to the rest of the console so you will want to cut your stalk: Preparing to cut stalk. They are many ways to do this (A Fret Saw is the best and most stable compared to a Buzz or Electric Saw but hand sawing will take from 10 to 30 minutes depending on your skill and strength) : Once stalk is cut. You can wrap the metal stalk in sticky double sided tape and insert the DCT Shifter on there. The plug and play harness is straightforward: Results look awesome: VIDEOS OF RESULTS:

No but you can wire it to a Sprint Booster but that is an entirely different DIY.

No you can bolt it on with a 20V power drill and a steel-penetrating lock screw.
Not even a baby can pull it off!
