I'm about 150 miles away from the 150k mark!
It seems that a lot of people I know with these cars are within 500 miles or so of 150k. Quite cool

I've done 2 door lock actuators on a pre-LCI e90. Super simple, and the aftermarket ones I got were made of metal instead of the OEM plastic ones.

Nice!

I actually really like the instant MPG gauge. My OBC is actually set to the instant readout, ironically.

Oil temp gauge is way more useful though if you're going to have a dedicated gauge.
I like the instant! It makes it a game.

With that said I have the digital readout, do the clusters with the needle mpg not have the digital readout?

Also, the service messages on the car say I need front brake pads in 2900 miles or so. I want to cut down on brake dust and folks have mentioned akebono - is this what I want?

Thanks!
I found that if you just remove the pads entirely the dust is much better. Makes a hell of a noise though

A lot of troubleshooting and googling. Currently getting code 2D2E. At idle im getting 25psi in the chargepipe… all my searching has indicated it being an intake manifold leak. Which i can hear a "roar" like a boost leak on WOT.

But i literally can not find a single leak anywhere. Did have my bov line pop off but i have since put a new line on and it is on a lot more snug. Every other line going to my manifold is okay

Currently pulling my hair out

So I have a hot side which made this easier. But I removed my intake filter and took a pvc cap that I drilled a hole in and installed valve stem for a tire. Tighten the silicone joint to the pvc cap and used a tire chuck on my air hose to fill it. Just listen for leaks.

Intake manifold gasket leak?
I had the tiniest leak on my IM gasket and it gave me issues.

Leak checked the manifold and no leaks.. made me go crazier. Then remembered my reflex lite taps into the map & believe tmap so i checked that… turned out to be a bad ground for the reflex lite and was throwing my map & tmap wayyy off

Plasti dipped my OEM grills in Matt black coz the gloss black eBay ones weren't fitting properly. I heard the genuine click/snap when the OEM ones went in.

On my 2011 328i, I installed Viofo A139 2 channel dash camera with their hardwiring kit and bluetooth remote button from Aliexpress when it was on sale. Came with CPL filter too!

Since I didn't want to buy the expensive Cellink NEO dash cam battery pack for +$400; it meant I had to spend a lot of time researching

So, I used LiFePO4 battery pack that supports pass through charging https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07YRZYLKV?psc=1 for $85 CAD as an alternative to buying Cellink NEO.

I also bought:
- step-up converter 12v -> 15v to charge the battery pack
- fuse taps
- extension barrel plugs

Took some time (3 months) to get it all setup and figure out the wiring as this was my own custom setup. But now the camera works as expected. Parking mode triggers when the ignition shuts off and resumes continuous recording when ignition is on.
I mounted the black bluetooth remote trigger behind the sunroof button. It looks very OEM now.

Finally a project that I planned for, got the parts for and actually managed to finish.

Couldn't resist the eBay special window visors, fit pretty well and on pretty tight.

Installed Android 11 head unit. Makes the car feel modern.
Wireless Carplay and Android Auto works automatically everytime. Very happy with the unit so far and sounds good too.

Keep us posted how you get on with them. It would be interesting to see if they create significantly less brake dust and if they stop as well as standard pads.

I want to do this so bad! Where did you get your unit? That's what I'm most afraid of, getting unit that doesn't perform well specially since I'd like to use the unit with my JB4.

I got it from Xtrons store on Amazon. Low risk since you can easily return. Took about 3 days to arrive from Hong Kong. It appears to work with MHD. I use it for data monitoring with MHD wifi dongle. I can even use wired Android Auto and wifi MHD simultaneously.

Replaced my driver's side lock actuator. Big props to the DIY post. Pretty easy overall. Love the $80 kit from FCP with both driver and passenger actuators.

Now I have to do the driver's side rear actuator. Don't really want to pay $250 for that one since I rarely use that door. Anyone have experience using an aftermarket/Amazon actuator?

For regulators and actuators I always buy used OEM ones. I get the newest prod year and lowest mileage possible. Pretty easy when some of these parts (like the front actuators so far that I know of) are all cross compatible all the way to the F8X
