Sound shifting from 3-4th gear. AT 325i 2006

Hello! First time posting here. I recently noticed a sound my transmission is making when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. It's an AT. Is that any sign my tranny is about to fail completely? Should I be worried about? It's a small humming noise it makes during that exact shift change, and then it disappears . Car is 100.000 km right now (62000 miles)

Is the sound accompanied by a buck or jolt

Not at all. It's just the noise during that exact shift change. Sometimes it sounds, sometimes not

The humming you hear shouldn't be a big issue. Surging, gear slippage, and straight up gear misses are what should worry you. Do you know what Trans you have? For example I have the GM 6L45. Did you change the fluid and filter?

(These trans BMW claims "lifetime" fluid, do not listen to that and change it. Whatever you do DO NOT FLUSH THE TRANS. All the problems you hear about dislodging deposits are from flushes. Simply change the fluid and filter. (Side note: you may have to change the fluid 2-3x to fully "change" the fluid))
