Installed a front wilwood big brake setup I got off a forum member. Now I need to find a rear set up to go with it!

Shop is quoting you for the re-bar as well im assuming. Make sure that they know you will check that the re-bar was replaced. Many times they dont replace it as there is no damge to it, but they charge the insurance for a new one. And finally, if you do get a m-tech rear, go with a satin black paint diffuser look. Dont use the stock corner sticker that come with the original diffuser. Tell the shop to paint it instead. And paint the upper center trim piece same color as body. Yes, the list of replacement parts include the rebar, I plan on buying the bumper and have a shop that will paint it. I can install it myself if needed. I see the diffusor is black but would it be smart to have it sprayed BSM also?

I received payment from State Farm for the hit and run from a week ago and immediately ordered the MTech bumper. Hopefully, it will arrive in a week and go directly to paint. Would you recommend painting the diffusor BSM or leave it as it is? The picture is from their website.

Looking good! If you don't smoke, consider swapping in an accessory tray. It's one of my favorite upgrades!

Fresh oil. 330k.
I started wiping oil off the trap door and bottom oil pan... before remembering what a stupid task that is, considering the fantastic mess sitting on top of the aero trays :/

Do you know if those little trap door flaps are sold? Mine is missing. I've poked around a little but haven't found a listing for one. NBD without out, just one of those little itches...

Replaced mine in a fit of OCD last year for $18. Costs way more now than piece of plastic should, but not a lot of money in absolute or relative terms. Still, for nearly $40, I would save your money.

Believe it or not, I still have my trap door after all those miles and years. The "screw" head on the latch has seen better days.
Come to think of it, 330k miles is only 30 some oil changes if the original owners went by the condition based maintenance program, then went 10k between changes after it clocked out. That latch is in awfully bad shape for only being used thirty times. I'd like to find a 51757145287 radiator gasket but cant bring myself to spend $60+shipping for it. Replaced barely-there front under-aero tray with a rock auto Taiwan knockoff shortly after getting the car. It's held up well. I just removed the plastic air deflectors in front of the rear tires as one of them started dragging. Yanked both because, you know, symmetry :P

Drove it back from the airport after it had sat for a week. Fired up immediately - new battery doing its job well indeed.
Replaced ignition coils - old ones were Delphis (silver one), new ones are Eldors from FCP Euro. There’s a definite difference! Oh, and cracked the windshield on the 528i. $400 for a new one - going with Climate Comfort glass. Last edited by Hoody007; 07-07-2022 at 11:09 PM.. |

I am going to need to find a new 'tension strut' for the rear. 51717160377
FCP has them for $150, which kinda seems like a good deal. Mine is almost totally rusted through on the driver side. It's odd. The car has been really good resisting cancer. I'm still shocked at how clean everything is. But one small section of that particular piece has just dissolved. Not sure how important it really is.... but it's substantial chunk of steel. I tend to think ze Germans put it there for a reason.

Number 19 in image below: I had the bumper you have in the pic from M0dbargain$, and trust me when i tell you, the one that has the diffusor trim looks way better. Makes the other one look very plain. By the way, what is BSM? Last edited by Wolf 335; 07-08-2022 at 08:04 AM.. |

Well, finally broke down and bought the alarm siren. Driving to NY in August and figured I'd better have an alarm installed…
Already have the ultrasonic sensor and hood switch, got the alarm for $59. Now I just need to find my jack for the install… |
