How stiff is the suspension on the SLK? That might have something to do with it. I haven't driven an SLK so I can't really comment.

The car comes with electronic adaptive damping. Being able to change the viscosity of the damping fluid gives much more than a typical damping system.

indeed... the new electronic dampening systems work really well.

My mates Jaguar XKR has 20" rims and sits very very low on its suspension, but yet rides smooth as a limo in comfort mode. I'd love to try one of the new BMW's with adaptive suspension.

Adaptive suspension is awesome SLK is a lightweight roadster which is why it doesn't feel as harsh too.
