Nissan Qashqai+2 any good?

Hey all,

I've been looking at these for the last couple of weeks and they have grown on me. Looking to pick one up but has anyone owned or driven one? what are you're thoughts on these?

Need a bigger family car and this fits the bill.

Thanks

Friend has one and says to avoid the 1.6 petrol at all costs as it's extremely slow and under powered for a car that can take 7 people. It's quite basic inside and the quality improved with the current Qashqai but they stopped producing the +2

I drove one for a couple of weeks, the 1.6 diesel is so sluggish, have to be patient with it to get it going but its great efficiency wise and I loved the panoramic roof I had on the on I drove - I think it would be a great family car though I would opt for a bigger engined version.

If you can go for the face lifted model. Avoid the petrols since they are expensive to run. The 1.5 diesel is ok but ensure the cambelt has been done under the recall. There are many cases where it snaps. The 1.6 diesel is the best engine of all. Trim wise you should go for the 360 or tekna and avoid all others.

I'm going to look at one this weekend. It's a 2010 (facelift) 2.0 petrol tekna.

Going by the auto trader technical info its more economical than my 325i so running it is not a problem if I go for a petrol.

Was the cambelt a problem on the newer facelift models?

I believe it was since someone from work had one and had to get a new engine fitted. But the 2.0petrol is fine.

My brother in law had 2010 diesel one for 1.5 years under warranty.
It went to dealer 6 times with engine management light on. Every Time they blamed different thing and parts were changed with no cure.
He went to three different dealers so they all tried to resolve it twice.
Problem was engine management light on and car going into limp mode without any reason.

At the end he pxd for toyota 7 seater which is extremely boring but very reliable car!
And to treat himself he went for fully loaded f10 520d.

I went to view a 2010 2 litre petrol over the weekend and have to say I was impressed with all toys you get with it compared to me my SE. The drive was smooth and it was quite nippy. Has full Nissan service history and 1 owner from new. I put a deposit down on it and pick it up tonight
