Home CCTV Advice

Having exchanged on my first property (yay) i'm thinking to install a camera looking out to my car.

Anyway i wasn't sure what route to take, save everything to cloud or save to a hard drive?

Nest Cam looks promising but im worried it will take up too much bandwidth and get in the way of downloading / streaming / connecting to work computer.
https://nest.com/uk/camera/meet-nest-cam/

Recommendations & tips will be much appreciated.

I put one of these Flir in my wife's Beauty Salon. I like you can set up trigger zones within the view to minimise false triggers and it does infra red at night. It saves to their "cloud" only when triggered and they do have a free subscription. All managed from your phone and/or tablet on which you can see live as well.

Yes, the rapid recap is good but without a subscription you can only use it once a month. We dont really mind to be honest because once you've set the camera up you tend to forget it unless something happens. Once or twice a week I look through the triggered recordings but they all tend to be the same for us as it's triggered by the salon door opening. It's piece of mind really knowing I've got the Salon recorded if someone breaks in during the night.

Garage List
Personally, I went for a wired kit with seperate DVRthat you can also access from your phone wherever. Maplins sell loads of them.

Camera on the front door did 4 months. The other two that have a lot less recording usage are still going strong at 6 months.
