Question increasing water in drivers' footwell - any ideas?

2002 compact 320tdi - got issue with increasing water in footwell - carpet saturated - anybody else had this issue or ideas what could be ...

I had this happen to me but on the passenger side. It turned out to be one of the lower door trim clips/grommets that wasn't seated properly and was bent/broken, not forming a proper seal

Depending on the age of your car, over time the door rubbers will compress. if you want to test just. first dry the rubber seals close the door and push some tissue around the area's where the seal looks flat, get your garden hose and spray away.. check the tissue for wet spots..
