Did it work for all of you guys? This is the first update that my car wasn't able to read. I formatted my 64GB stick as a 32GB fat32 partition but no luck

Try formatting it as one 64gb fat32 partition.

You will have to redo the partition table anyway... and make sure it's MBR too.

This seems to have solved it, thanks for your help. I had a GPT partition rather than MBR. It's now sensing the update. Not sure how I missed the part about MBR earlier

Gonna give my 2 cents - hopefully this helps somebody.

1b file
Followed the instructions here to get the 1b file.

I would turn the car on and pull the USB stick to see if the 1b file showed up. It only worked on my smaller thumb drives.

FSC Generator
Used the FSC generator to get my code - take a picture on your phone so you don't need to write it down. No issues here for me. Selected lifetime.

Maps Unpacking
Once you download your map pack, unzip it. I used 7zip and selected part 1. When I unzipped it, I put it into a generic folder. After unzipping, I had a folder called "NavD...".

My car would not recognize the USB/maps until I only put "pkgdb" (folder) and "config.nfm" in the root. Thus, make sure you take out these files from the NavD folder.

Referenced this picture from another post to make sure I had the right files on the USB stick. Make sure your stick has the files in picture 3.

USB Flash Drive
I didn't have a 32GB USB drive so I bought this from Amazon. No issues with this flash drive. SanDisk Ultra CZ48 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive

For reference, my car maps have never been updated by the previous owner. I am on 2011 maps.

No such thing. North America PREMIUM has only one release per year now. Latest is 2020. There is no 2020-1 let alone 2020-2.

I was able to successfully download and install the maps using the guide on this forum on a Windows 10 using a 64GB USB flash drive.

The only tricky part was that I had to format it in FAT32 to be able to pull 1b file and install the maps, but Windows 10 doesn't do that natively on anything over 32 GB so I had to use one of the online tools. Quick Google search provided a few results.

So far so good!

I was able to download the 1b.hex file. Had to do a full FAT32 format on a new USB in order to get it to pull correctly.

THANK YOU to those still seeding the 2020 Maps! Only took about 2 hours to download the torrent file and it is extracting now.

Hopefully the rest is as straight forward for me as it has been for others. My 2012 X5 maps have never been updated since the dealer floor in 2011.

Nice, mine is saying its gonna take way longer than that haha. Does the speed depend on which torrent client your using or no?

Nope, just based on factors like your connection speed and seeders availability and bandwidth.
