MAF Questions

Hi Guys,

Hope you are well.

So i will try and keep this short. I want to put a cold air induction on my M57 325d.... i have the universal induction kit but my MAF box is oval, my pipes are Round.

Can i fit the 335d MAF or 330d MAF which seems to be oval in shape? Are they interchangeable?

Thank you

I meant round... there seems to be different shape MAF holders in terms of their housing.

Or can someone recommend a cold air induction kit for the 325d?

I would probably get or make an adapter that goes from oval to round. Or take the MAF element and use in your own housing. Watch how close the filter to the MAF. If airflow is disturbed you will get wrong readings and your fueling be off.

Thank you, I appreciate your comments. I didn’t realise the MAF comes out?

Try to keep the same Maf and when installed the cold air intake. Plug in diagno tool and do a “new” maf adaptation.

It is not designed to come out. But you can talk to it nicely with a small screwdriver and it will agree.
