In my opinion an intercooler that big is pointless. What exactly are you doing that you need one that big? For a track day, I don't think IAT is as big a deal as oil temperatures are. If you're roll racing are you really doing it back to back that many times in a such a short period of time?

Some people also don't want to run meth, I personally wouldn't. Kind of an inconvenience if you ask me, but I could be lazy. Also the risks associated with it, which can be minimized with a proper setup. Good solution, but not for everyone. FMIC might not be as effective as meth, but it's a set it and forget it modification.

I want one but not for 1k. In my opinion this by far the best designed intercooler. For consistent power delivery you want an intercooler than is thin but has big surface. Should not be long till we see one on ebay.😜

Its very disappointing that our BMW community got to a point where we are encouraging knock offs and driving innovative companies out of business / other markets

FWIW our race intercooler outperforms this intercooler by quite a margin according to independent logs and it's $400 less expensive. Our intercooler was tested on a car running 790whp and 35psi. Search google for "bcp intercooler logs" and you'll find the quote posted in the first link.

"I just compared a Log with the new BCP intercooler to a log with my older 5" ETS intercooler. Water temps were not affected. IAT's only rose 21 degrees during a 4th gear pull with the BCP intercooler compared to a 47 degree increase with my old intercooler."

21 degree rise on a 4th gear pull vs our 11 degree rise and I'm fairly certain the tester isn't making 800whp at 35 psi. With less airflow and boost our gains would be even better.

ETS 5" ... from the 2 options you listed it looks like you are looking for an intercooler that requires no trimming.
Active Autowerke new version 2 intercooler is a very good choice as well

Just curious, what makes ETS more effective considering they are the same size? Have there been any logs?

What about fitment for a 335is? Seems a few manufactures will straight up say their intercooler wont fit, a few others state won't fit with DCT. I have not seen any that specifically state they will
So who's product will fit?
Anyone want to fill me in that they did install a quality intercooler without having to re-plumb the aux. radiator?
Thanks,
Jeff

Size does not tell the full story ... You also need to consider core density, end tank, etc

I will try to find logs for you

Most should fit ... If you have a certain brand in mind let me know and I will double check with the manufacturer

You will not regret ETS. In my case it was completely bolt on. Did not have to cut or anything to install it. The "7" is another story , I think the bigger you go , the more you may have to customize. Another reason I went with the "5". But the 7" looks so ... Rewarding ... Classy... .
