"Short review: Custom Earthquake SWS-8 / SWS-8x spacers"
As many know on this board some don't have the time to do certain projects. I saw an add here selling SWS 8's and free spacers with them. I already have the speakers but was looking for something to make the install much easier. I contacted the gentleman (jtsherri" is the screen name), and acquired about having some spacers made up for us "time limited people." Anyway, with help from several other people on his post he decided to make some up for sale. I was impressed with the quality of even these prototypes. Jayson worried that the quality was not perfect. Well. I will tell you that the quality of these spacers is more than adequate. I verified the hole placement against my speakers, they were spot on. He did not drill the plate for speaker wires as I thought it should be left up to the individual about what size wire there were to use. All in all, I was impressed at the price the quality and that someone was actually willing to do spacers for such a small market...So, thanks.... Picture below.... Got these a little while back and went down to test fit them today (still waiting on the amp). Everything is perfect and they're a real deal.
If you're planning on doing the SWS upgrade, you should contact JT about getting these things. I'm betting it will make the job a lot easier. |

Got these in the mail today. Quality looks great! I test fitted them on the subs and they are perfect. I am going to do the install tomorrow after I get my car back from the dealer but I have jury duty!

I just did my install and I just wanted to let others know that you need longer screws for the grill and spacer to be secured. No biggie though. Just had to do a quick run to the local hardware store.

I received my spacers and I am very happy.
FYI - I came across this thread while doing research on my SWS install and I've posted this info at my home forum e60.net. As they say..."search" is your friend! |

I've inquired about becoming a vendor, once I pick up some additional parts that will afford me the ability to pay the monthly fees; however, at this time, I'm mostly doing this to get my name out there and to help out the community. Unfortunately, there's no way I could afford to pay the fees with these spacers alone. Feel free to PM me for more info and thanks for the interest!

I ordered a set of these spacers and received them last week. They are spot on and excellent quality. I was happy to see that they came in black too. I'm bummed that I haven't been able to do the install yet. I'm still waiting on the SWS-8's to arrive. I'll post pics when I do get them installed.
Thanks JT you were a real pleasure to communicate with and made the transaction very easy. |

There's not a ton of margin on these; however, I could definitely pull something together if you guys arrange it (...maybe free shipping and a couple bucks off the set?).
Also, I only have 5 sets of these stocked right now, so I'd have to have more machined before they went out too. Let me know what you have in mind (via PM) and I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the interest!

Kudos from a legend
I just installed the Earthquakes with these spacers at Rick Reus' Orange, CA shop. Everything went really well. Rick said I can quote him:
"Tell those guys they did an amazing job making the fabricated spacers and instructions" Means a lot coming from a legend! Take a bow, jtsherri and azwillNJ I have a Reus Systems stereo in my 335 and proudly show it off at SoCal events to help Reus sales efforts. For those of you who don't know him -- the best hidden secret in car audio -- Rick Reus engineers arguably the sweetest sounding high-end systems in the world for BMWs and other high-end cars. He has an amazing reputation stretetching back to the 1970s. PM me for more info. Check out Reus at http://www.reusaudio.com/aboutus.html
