Question about downpipe install

I have a 2010 E92 335i and I’ve installed my downpipes. For anyone that did the install did you guys completely remove the DP bracket and reinstall the bell housing bolts (the one that held the oem dp with 12mm nuts)? Or did you guys keep the bracket in?
I completely removed it and reinstalled the bolts but one of them isn’t sitting flush to the bellhousing because i’m scared to crack or break something by over tightening lol.
I was thinking to maybe try to find washers the same thickness as the bracket to put in between or leaving it as is because it feels really tight.
Anyone else have the same problem or is it just me being stupid haha
Any advice is appreciated

Left the brackets in. DP’s are touching them but no negative effects.

I removed the bracket both times and replaced the bolt that held the bracket in place. It went all the way back in so I'm assuming all the bolts are the same length.

I also replaced one of the bolts with a flat headed one for extra clearance, not sure if all downpipe kits come with that replacement bolt.

I left my bracket in...just bent it out of the way a little bit so it wasn't rubbing on anything.

I simply removed the bracket.

Thank you everyone for the replies! I’m gnna try torquing down the one bolt later on and see if it sits flat.

Did you end up breaking or torqueing it? I'm in the exact same situation as you the top bolt doesn't go all the way in and I definitely feel like it is bottomed out and if I tighten it will snap. Already these are aluminum bolts that you aren't supposed to re-use...

Considering this doesn't seal liquids really though I'm tempted to just say F it and run it as is.
