Audi Sport Net has got some good guys on it, but also some extremely narrow minded idiots on there as well. I honestly don't think some of them have even bothered to try the offerings from Mercedes and BMW as their opinions are so clichéd it is laughable.
There seems to be alot of hate for other brands with Audi drivers, it is almost like it is a club and you look down on anyone outside it with a 'we know best attitude'. A real shame. Some good Audis out there, like the RS4, S3 and the allroad range, but the rest of the range is all about image, there not real drivers cars, and Audi admit this, they don't see BMW as their competitor, more Mercedes and VW. Now the thing I have found with the BMW forums is the owners generally just love cars, doesn't matter the marque, they can appreciate a car for what it is. And this comes across on here, and that is why I think it feels so friendly and relaxed. (By the way, I have owned about a dozen Audis over the last 10 years and was an active member on ASN, so it was from experience that I speak. ) |

Although this is my first BMW, my family has had them on and off for years. My father bought the first 2000ti in Scotland (only the fourth UK wide) in 1966!
It's official acceleration was 7.5s but that was 0 - 50mph but in contrast with the competition in those days it was an utter flying machine! Over the years there has been a succession of 3 and 5 series cars. Right now, my two brothers have a 325i convertible and an E90 320d so we are 100% Beemer at the moment. I have a photograph of the 2000ti somewhere. If I can find it, I'll post it up. |

From where I was sat at UK6, you trying to accelerate downhill past Dougie's 335i, did make me almost pull your passenger door handle off. Viv |
