ECU Tune

Hi all

what do you guys think of an ECU tune.

any long-term reliability issues worth noting? can it cause any AT damage?

my F10 comes with a 3 stage manifold from the factory and my third stage is not fully optimized thus why I dont now have the 255HP power figure. I am looking to take advantage of my manifold with an ECU tune.

my primary concern is that a tune usually gives you power gains with aggressive fuel/ignition timing which may not be good for your engine in the long run. what do you guys think of this? should I do it? will it affect fuel efficiency in any way?

thanks!

Dude, you asked the same question 15-20 times already.

At this point you are just spamming these boards with these questions. Get any tune you want, OR don't. It's $400-700. Not the end of the world (4-7 nice dates / going out).

Also, your questions don't even make sense anymore, since you came off as such big expert on what ignition/timing setting are, that you even managed to piss off the un-pissable - hass.

Get the tune or don't. You have read most people's stance on it and no one said anything about not getting it for N52 - other than 335 guys, since they get cheap hp/$ that tunes for N52 make no sense to them. If you are going to listen to them, sell your car and get x35. We are not your mommy and daddy to seek our approval to get it.

Its not my fault Hass is ignorant to other peoples opinions.

where are the admins? how can I get them to delete all this shit?

I was just looking for actual opinions and experiences from people who have done an ECU tune themselves.

all this yes, no, do it if you want, dont do it if you dont want to isnt answering my question. I just want this shit deleted but thanks anyways - what you said makes sense ill just go and do the god damn tune.

Im stuck with an N52 for a number of reasons. the 35/40i/M3 will be coming in my next life.

E90Post should have a mandatory probation period before being allowed to make new threads. Like minimum 60 posts or a giant glowing flashing bright pink SEARCH button hovering over your screen as your mouse is about to hit the "create thread" button.

I actually answered each of his questions/comments in order. But my answer isn't going to change no matter how many times he asks.

The biggest question is DO YOU WANT TO DO IT?

yeah should also ban arrogant smart asses that discourage other people from posting... or can't accept others opinions or own experiences, not referring to anyone in particular just a general feeling here.

Who's discouraging people for posting legitimate inquiries? That would be asinine.

Discouraging redundant threads regarding things that have been discussed endlessly ad nauseam? Oh absolutely, without a shred of a doubt.

BMW put a lifetime oil in your engine. No oil changes are needed.

If you spent $500 on a tune, you will actually see more torque from using regular fuel. highly recommended.

with enough tanks of 87 octane fuel, you will get your money back from spending on the tune.

I know exactly what you mean, and I know exactly who you are talking about.

this is honestly getting ridiculous. i mean, who the fuck makes an account on a FORUM where you are actually supposed share your opinion and consider others without being a judgemental cunt and letting your poor, battered little ego get in the way. and then turn down other peoples ideas in favour of yours.

Oh you have no proof to back up your statement? well neither do I, so that means im right. ridiculous. its like a battle of ego more so then who is actually right or wrong. I appreciate people like The Axiom who take a more or less neutral stance on all this bullshit, but this isnt what a forum is supposed to be.

it was ruined as soon as Hass's ego was put at risk and new opinions came along which contradicted all the proven methods he stands for?

At this point, we don't have to bash anyone.

What does it matter? Buy the tune - enjoy, everyone is happy.

you guys are all awesome. I just cant stand Hass's ignorance and inability to consider other peoples educated opinions.

he argues that i have no evidence to back up my claims, yet has no evidence to back up his own and this is what he bases his argument on.

anyways, enough of this. thanks for being a good sport guys.

if Axiom doesnt strangle me to death for it, I will post an update once I get the tune done.

cheers!

In all seriousness
Dude no... please do not attack people. I would advise you to edit your posts and apologize. Hass is very helpful and TBH you did call him cheap and unknowledgeable. A person who freacking dissected N52 ECU. If anyone knows what he is talking about when it comes to tuning, it would be him.

You owe him an apology.
