Excellent. I just updated my maps today with the same package, so it's all good

Funny thing, just for the hell of it I tried the USB drive in my 335i which did not read the update USB last time (the one I need to burn the DVDs for)... It read it this time! The last time BMW had it they must have done an update to the system!

Oh, and I just finished burning disk one.. LOL

How is everyone find the performance of the new version in their car? I think I have a 2016 version in my E92 and maps seem to judder when zoomed in on perspective view as if it can't keep up. Zooming out is much better.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but on the current new cars the map movement is super smooth?

Thanks

If you have a lifetime code, you don't need anything other than the maps.

Download the maps, load to a USB key and start the update process. If it starts to update without asking for a code, you have a lifetime code.

Not noticed any difference in the speed of the maps.

So if you zoom all the way in, in perspective view, your maps move fine or does it all struggle a bit? If you experience the same as me I'll just say its normal then.

Ps download of a script on page 12 here, it will get the file needed from CIC so no need to buy a cable any more! Not used it myself but speaking to someone else on here re map updates they used this script and loaded new maps in past few days with no issues

http://www.bmwclub.ro/forums/topic/1.../page__st__220

If you did want cable still then yes enet cable should be ok on most lci e9x models, will only talk to cic though, can't do other stuff

couldn't get the downloads to finish for me....

Hi all,

Was planning to give this ago today, frustratingly I've only got a bloody 16gb USB pen, so not enough space.

Does anyone know if using an external HD would work?

Also, I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out with a one time FSC code ?

Many thanks

Okay after some routing around in drawers in the study, I've found a SD card to USB adaptor, and have a 128GB micro SD card in my GoPro - so assuming this will work.

Just got to find the GoPro now

If you use the 3x usb version a 16gb stick will be fine done in stages. Only need 32gb for the 1x usb version

AH okay, I thought you had to have all 3 files on the USB at one time, but if you can remove, then take off USB1 and load USB2 then re-insert the drive and it will continue uploading, then I can do that.

Just need the FSC code now - anyone that can help with that would be grand.

Yes should be fine. There's a script to get 1b file then can generate your own fsc codes for whatever maps you want now and in the future, worth spending a few minutes...
