2009 335i E92 possible purchase questions

Hello,

I am considering purchasing my first BMW. A friend of mine is selling a 2009 335i E92 in black sapphire metallic with 78K miles on it for $17,000.

It's an auto with paddle shifters & has the premium package, sport package, navigation, moonroof, heated seats, comfort access system & iPod/USB adapter.

The body is in great shape and the interior is good. Some wear on the driver's side door handle area. Wheels have some curb rash.

I pulled a carfax and other than a replaced blower motor, it's just had regular maintenance.

I did find a spot under the hood that looked like there was a leak of some sort (pic attached). Does that look like something to worry about?

Is the price a good deal? What else should I look out for?

Since it's out of warranty should I be concerned that the typical parts that tend to fail at high mileage have not been replaced on the car? I don't want to buy it and then have it start falling apart, although I suppose that's the risk you take.

I do plan on modding & tuning the car.

Thanks for any help & hope to be joining the ranks soon!

Sounds like a good deal to me. Like he said above though spend a little bit to have it checked out and diagnosed at an Indy first and if it checks out I would pick it up. I wouldn't be to worried about parts failing just make to sure to always have about 500-1000 saved and ready to go incase something goes wrong. Ask me how I know
