Using the baseplate + Snap-In Adapter
I hope someone can help me with my quest to get the cradle to work in my E91 2011.
My car came equipped with S6FLA, S6VCA and S633A. At a later point 6NR was added, so BMW Apps though USB connection is available. I was hoping buying a Media Snap-in Adapter for my iPhone 5 and inserting it into the already present baseplate would give me connection through this adapter. I do have the plugin option available under ConnectedDrive, but it always reads no compatible device has been found. It does however charge and have better phone reception. I now suspect I might be missing the USB connection between the baseplate and the USB hub or some CIC coding still needs to be done. Who can shed some light on this mystery? |

Did it myself by
- obtaining an FSC code - uploading it via FSTool - used NCSExpert to include $6NR and write FA to CAS and NFRM - and finally reinitialized CIC and MEDIA modules to reflect $6NR addition |

you need to replace baseplate and add cable to combox to get usb-via-cradle connection

Do you think I will also need a different baseplate, or just a cable to connect the already existing one to the combox? |

Allow me to answer my own question I removed the current base plat or eject box and it does not have the blue USB connector (84109160935)
Guess I'm in the market for a 6NF base plate. Heading for the classifieds! |

you are right
you'll need at least such baseplate (6NF) long hsd cable to combox (not very cheap) if you also want to get video playback from iphone4s you'll also need fbas cable and another usb/aux socket and remade aux wiring but if you plan to use iphone 5 and newer you will not get video playback and, you can get all other functions (except charging via plate ) via genuine usb-lightning cable to your current usb/aux socket i can sell you such baseplate and fbas cable and 6nf usb/aux socket if you interested in full retrofit
