Coolant Warning Lights

My warning light just came on: Apparently my coolant level is low. I've been reading around and most E90's doesnt need to top up their coolant after they bought their car for 2 years. Also, considering the place that I live in has a hot climate throughout the year, that could also play a role.

So now my question is: Does the Ani-freeze coolant mix only apply to cold countries?which means is it okay for me to just use tap/distilled water to top up the coolant since I live in a country where it averages around 30 degrees? Will it be safe?

Please note that this is only a top up,not a flush.

Use BMW brand coolant at a mixture of 50% distilled water and 50% coolant.
